Body Solid Multi-Press Rack GPR370 Review

I have very good things to say about Body-Solid. I have at least five of their pieces of equipment in my home exercise regimen. Their equipment is well-designed, with the user in mind, well-built, and, though made in China, is constructed with excellent quality control. It is, as they advertised, built to last a lifetime.

I received this machine by FedEx (about 180 lbs) in two boxes. Shipping costs are a factor in shopping for price on this rack. I got free shipping. I estimate the freight would be around $100.00.

It took me about two hours to fully assemble. The good news is that I was able to assemble the entire rack with only a 3/4" socket and a 3/4 " box wrench.

I think that who ever made the assembly instructions did not talk fully with the design engineers. This is really well-designed. The picture and the instructions show the racks on the outside of the vertical supports. It works fine if you assemble it this way. However, if you assemble it this way you can only use 7 foot olympic bars. I assembled it with the racks on the inside of the vertical supports.

You have to reverse the racks so the the numbering on the racks are on the inside, and, you have to reverse the safeties. However, with the racks and safeties reversed I can comfortably use a 6 foot olympic bar for curls, in addition to a 7 foot bar for bench presses and squats.

If you can obtain this at a decent price, including shipping, then it is a fantastic bargain. It almost replaces most Smith machines, a bench press rack, a squat rack, a weight tree, and, with a bench, can be used for presses, dumbells, or, without a bench, can be used for overhead presses and jerks at failure point.

A note for mature users: I am 54, and, after fracturing both shoulders I am slowly coming back to condition. For rehab, this machine is ideal. The safeties are very secure, and, it gives you the confidence to push through the pain, and, develop the muscles you need for support while healing.

This item gets and "excellent" from me all the way around. . . .

Hoop Fever Basketball Arcade Game Review

Ok, so I don't OWN this game (obviously, look at the price...) but I played it every other day for about a year at the local arcade.

The game is awesome. It uses regulation-size balls (or very close to it, anyway), a real backboard (with gratifying metal net), and has a really nice electronic score keeper.

It's basically the best arcade basketball system on the market. Lots of fun to play on.

EF Products Rotary Leg Machine EF-7615 Review

I bought this machine to complement the other pieces in my home gym.I was slowly becoming aware of slight weakness in my knees, and decided this machine would strengthen my hamstrings and quadriceps -- that in turn adds strength to the knees.

It comes in a HUGE, HEAVY box, but still needs to be assembled.The parts are expertly arranged on a cardboard that is covered a clear plastic film.You'll need scissors or cutter to remove the plastic.The directions are very good.The parts fit together very well.I am a 64-year old, fairly fit woman, and I did need to use great effort to tighten the bolts.But I assembled it in a few hours.The box comes with two sizes of Allen wrenches, and a strong but narrow dual-sided wrench that I quickly replaced with my own padded-handle wrench. The paddled-handle wrench was a must in my opinion, because of the strong pressure required to tighten the bolts.The box-supplied wrench was so narrow that it seemed to cut into my hand as I applied pressure, and it frequently slid off the bolts as I turned it.I do suggest that you assemble it where you plan to use it, because it is very heavy to move.

All the pieces feel like fine quality for the home gym.You'll have to add your own weights.I chose a 10-lb weight for starters, that I bought off Ebay: Troy VTX Grip Olympic Plate from Fitnessedgeonline, and $19.99 included shipping. (This seller was fast!) 10 lbs. works fine for extensions, but I'll add 5 or 10 lbs more for curls.YOU may be able to use much more weight, especially for men, but I personally caution against overdoing the weight, since the condition of the knee is at stake!

The seat and back cushions are great quality, as are the foam pads that contact the legs.I find the adjustments for body size very easy to make.I am 5'4" and I'd say a user should not be much shorter or the leg bar won't adjust high enough.A 6' man used the machine and said the adjustments he made were very comfortable for him.The machine feels very sturdy and steady when in use.

I have had the machine for several weeks now and am very happy with the purchase.As with any new gym equipment, start out slowly for safety's sake.I hope you'll like it too.

TKO 802OR-BK Tri Grip Olympic Weight Plates 255 lb set Review

Definitely worth the money.Shipped from Bayou Fitness via Fedex National (freight) and came about a week after ordering.Fedex called me to schedule the pickup, since you have to be home to sign for it.The weights are packed well in plastic bags inside cardboard boxes and delivered in a small palletized shipping crate.The Fedex guy used a pallet jack and brought the crate into my garage, which is in the back of my house and told me to drink a lot of muscle milk protein when I work out ;-)He says he benches 400 lbs, so I think I may try that out.The weights themselves are coated in some kind of grease, probably to keep the rubber fresh and keep them from sticking to the packaging material, which needs to be cleaned off with soap and water.The rubber coating feels good and is not giving off noxious sulfur fumes.The biggest thing for me is that they look really cool and go well with my Powertec leverage system gym.I will definitely buy more of these in the future, although, probably of the 45lb variety, now that I have a mixed set.For the money, these are one of the highest quality, best looking plates you will find.I like how even the small plates are shaped like the big ones.They are also very quiet as you would expect from rubber coated plates.My previous set is painted iron and have become very rusty.I will never again buy non-coated gym equipment.You pay double the price for coated equipment, but it makes you feel like you are at a good gym and it makes you want to work out more.I don't like getting rust on my hands when I'm working out.

ICE Super Chexx Bubble Hockey Table Review

Great game. Easy to assemble but be careful, base is hard to fit into some doorways. May need to order the smaller base style. Overall, very pleased with product, directions, and service.

disappointed in this mat, used it in the garage on a concrete floor
the base started coming away almost immediately, so the mat wears from the bottom
not from the top, I'm a 3 handicapper and certainly do not 'hack' my golf shots.
this mat will not last more than a few weeks of constant use, even if rotated
as the makers suggest!!!
I would recommend that if your interested in a durable driving range mat, then
spend the extra cash and buy a commercial grade one, which is what I should have done.

These bikes are the worst that I have ever used.The seats
can't be adjusted in 2 ways.First, they are too
stiff to move up or down.It sticks to move either way.
Second, the screws that tighten the seat in the vertical position do
not tighten enough, as if the threads are bad, and the seat
will slide down after about 5 minutes in the saddle. The numbers
are too faint to see where the position is located once you do
get the seat in the place that you want.This last complaint is
minor but irritating to the gym members.

The lever/pad tension system is very inflexible.Most of
the riders only use the first 3 settings.Anything higher
is too much and inhibits the pedal stroke to a point where
there is no benefit and danger of injury. This isn't just one or two bikes.The gym I where I work
bought 14 of them and they all are like this.
